Risk disclosure

Trading risk
Trading futures, options on futures and contracts for difference (CFDs) involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. These products are leveraged: a small market movement can cause a large loss. When trading futures you can lose more than the money you deposited. CFDs are complex instruments and a high proportion of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how these products work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
Only trade with money you can afford to lose. Past performance, whether actual or hypothetical, is not a reliable indicator of future results.
Hypothetical performance
All backtest results on this website are hypothetical. They come from the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester and do not represent real trading. Where they are shown they are labelled "Hypothetical backtest, not real trading".
HYPOTHETICAL OR SIMULATED PERFORMANCE RESULTS HAVE CERTAIN LIMITATIONS. UNLIKE AN ACTUAL PERFORMANCE RECORD, SIMULATED RESULTS DO NOT REPRESENT ACTUAL TRADING. ALSO, SINCE THE TRADES HAVE NOT BEEN EXECUTED, THE RESULTS MAY HAVE UNDER-OR-OVER COMPENSATED FOR THE IMPACT, IF ANY, OF CERTAIN MARKET FACTORS, SUCH AS LACK OF LIQUIDITY. SIMULATED TRADING PROGRAMS IN GENERAL ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE DESIGNED WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT. NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFIT OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN.
In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical record can fully account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading, such as the ability to keep following a program through losses. The rules of this program were developed using data from the same period as the backtest.
Results of a demo account (forward test) are also not real trading: execution on a demo account can differ from execution on a live account.
No investment advice
Opening Bell Algo provides software and general information. Nothing on this website, in the product description, in our reports or on our social media accounts is investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument, or a personal recommendation. We do not know your financial situation, objectives or experience. Decide for yourself, and seek independent advice if you need it.

Software and technical risk
An expert advisor executes fixed rules automatically. It can fail or behave unexpectedly because of errors in the software, in MetaTrader 5, in your broker's systems, in your computer or VPS, in your internet connection, in price data, or because of wrong settings. Orders can be rejected, delayed or filled at worse prices than expected. A stop loss does not guarantee that a loss will be limited to the stop level. You are responsible for monitoring your account and for every trade executed on it.
Broker, instrument and cost differences
Results depend on the broker, the instrument (futures or CFD), commissions, spreads, swaps, slippage and the price feed. Results at your broker can be materially worse than any result shown on this website.
Prop firms
If you use the software on a proprietary trading firm's account, you are responsible for complying with that firm's rules, including any rules on third-party software and on identical trades across accounts.
Jurisdiction
Trading leveraged products, or the use of automated trading software, may be restricted where you live. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
